Welcome to 49thLatitude. This site is under construction and reflects our change in direction from consulting as Dot Net Code Slingers toward a 100% focus on our CmdMan [Command Manager] monitoring and scheduling application for Windows based computer networks. CmdMan is an agent based monitoring, scheduling and maintenance tool for corporate, educational and government IT shops, available at very low cost, yet offering many similar functions and features of Microsoft Operations Manager and Net IQ.
We are targeting January 2010 to start working closely with some companies and other organizations to proof and further configure the system to their practical needs while simultaneously building up a repository of event monitoring definitions [i.e. Triggers].
Triggers interact with the overall CmdMan system including archiving event and alert information at the CmdMan Manager server as well as displaying alert and event history information on any connected CmdMan Console desktops. In response to events, Triggers can optionally run local and remote Actions that can run one or more executables including in-process or external PowerShell scripts and conventional exe, script and batch files. Action outputs are logged per Trigger, per day, for later review. Actions are designed to respond to local system as well as external events and status to repair or otherwise address problems or system state such as freeing disk space, restarting services and applications, interacting with custom hardware, enforcing anti-virus and firewall rules, running backups and other scheduled jobs, sending email and text messages etc.
CmdMan Triggers and Actions are extensible, using any .NET language or Powershell, by end users and 3rd party developers, so new monitoring applications can be easily incorporated into CmdMan. I am wanting to partner with another established software company or marketing firm that can help launch the next stage of this product and company and help with pricing, marketing, software support models, source escrow etc. The CmdMan application itself has already been totally funded in-house so further development funds are not required.
